Motel 6 Prospect Heights, IL

To Whom It May Concern, As I am not the normal customer to post a review; as of late, there have been a few, specific businesses that have exceeded my expectations, for customer service, ethics and humanity. The Motel 6 in Prospect Heights, Illinois is one such location. As a person who has traveled quite a bit, there is an expectation for a specific price range. However, the management fosters a higher level of standards, for ethics, customer service and humanity; that rivals some higher priced hotels, that I have stayed in. The rooms are tidy and welcoming. The proximity to public transportation, a small shopping mall and restaurants, within a short walk, make this location a rare and unique find. To the staff, thank you for all you do. If I could give negative stars I would. I had the worst experience at this hotel. If you want to have no control on a room you paid for, and the staff ill find any way to belittle you; then you found the perfect place. Whatever they failed to fix you will be blamed for. I'm surprised they have stayed open for this long with the worst staff known to history.i would never recommend this place to my worst enemy or a junkyard dog. If anyone can avoid this this place I suggest you do so. THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN FOR GOOD! Their bed and code are not up to date and they are quick to kick you out. I hope they get closed permanently or get a better owner and staff. Good luck to anyone past or present because you will lose your money.

Came all the way from Mississippi to attend a funeral this past weekend. I would've gave it 5 stars but the Internet was bad and just hoped that continental breakfast was served. But I liked it was near places that we can go eat at. The staff was very polite and the rooms was very clean. I will definitely come back to stay. Thank you so much for making my family and I stay pleasant. Highly recommend

It was okay for being a bare-bones room. It appeared clean, though on the last day, I discovered some mildew and mold on the underside of the edge where the shower ends and the bathtub begins. The bed linens and towels were clean. Also, window screens would have been nice so that I could have opened the window. It was pretty quiet, except for a couple of short periods today where someone was drilling next door or in a nearby room and there was a faint machine burning smell in my room. Overall, it was bearable.

The Manager and head house cleaner should be ashamed. I have never felt more embarrassed and hurt. Housecleaning asked to clean my room. I said I didn’t need it but the housecleaning lady said it was mandatory. I did not argue. When they showed up an hour later my cat had just used the litter box. Quick question, when anyone uses the bathroom it makes the room stink right? So of course I was embarrassed. When I was taking my cat and dog out so they can clean the room the cleaner was very angry. Told me to notify front desk of the animals. I cooperated without argument or hesitation. When I got to the desk the manager was furious. Told me to come with him to inspect the room. I cooperated 100%. Then he proceeded to make me more embarrassed about the smell. I immediately apologized and asked for a moment to clean the litter box. He made me feel terrible. The only option he gave me was to checkout and never return. I pleaded with the manager explaining the cat just used the litter box and I will clean it immediately. I never once argued or raised my voice. I do not recommend staying here. I’ve been staying in hotels for over a month because I just moved here and this incident was the first time I was kicked out due to the cat pee smell in the litter box. It was very unprofessional and to be honest the way I was treated was inhumane. I was forced to throw the litter box away. My cat is 100% litter box trained and I took a video of the room prior to checkout. The video shows the room is as clean as when I checked in. The odor from the litter box went away immediately but the impact this experience has left me is permanent. I left a note suggesting talking to the guest about any issues before escalating to that point so that any problems can be resolved in a more professional way. I will be sending a complaint to corporate. I do not have the names of the manager and housecleaner yet but I will be making complaints about them. I pray that God is just and will help me out in this tough time. P.s. housecleaning did not clean my room. They simply forced an inspection without warning and humiliated me in front of my girlfriend. Then told me I was being forced to checkout and not return. The feeling I had during the ordeal was absolutely horrible. They did not speak or treat me like a human being although I was respectful and kind during the entire time.
